Health & Safety Guidelines for Member Organisations

1.     Policy

1.1   EIATSCYP requires accredited Member Organisations to:

1.2   take all reasonable steps to ensure the health and safety at work of all Employees and Practitioners, and to take all reasonable steps to implement such a  policy
1.3   encourage employees and practitioners to co-operate with EIATSCYP M.O to ensure that this policy is effective, and to offer all necessary assistance to ensure the health and safety at work of all Employees and Practitioners
1.4   take all reasonable steps to ensure that the health and safety of others who may be affected by the work activity
1.5   invoke sanctions ( including possible suspension of membership) against any employee or practitioner who violates the health and safety policy
1.6   consult with Employees and Practitioners periodically to ascertain what measures should be taken to increase awareness of health and safety and to ensure that all necessary measures are taken to make this policy effective
1.7   take such measures as may be necessary to ensure proper training, supervision and instruction of all Employees and Practitioners in matters pertaining to their health and safety and to provide any necessary information

2.     Personal responsibility for Health and Safety

2.1   EIATSCYP M.O’s are required to:
2.2   nominate a person to take overall responsibility for health and safety

3.    provide details and procedures for health and safety to be observed by Employees and Practitioners in the following areas:

  • Cleanliness of the workplace
  • Smoking
  • Fire precautions and drills
  • Alcohol and drugs
